Project Summary
SOA Lead Architect for a sporting goods company
Lead the effort to create a SOA Strategy and Roadmap for a sporting goods company, collaborating with local team and IBM Architects. Created an SOA Adoption Model tailored to their business and elaborated on a 1 year plan for SOA Adoption within the enterprise.
SOA Infrastructure Architect for a major Insurance company
Lead a team of IBM consultants and Subject Matter Experts to produce a functional Operational Model for the proposed SOA environment for an Insurance company in the Northwest. The architecture addressed high availability, performance and security along with management of the services in their SOA environment. The architecture included WebSphere based middleware runtime, several Mainframe connectivity options along with an elaborate ESB design. The project also produced a reusable asset – SOA Operational Model Template.
SOA Integration Architect for a major Insurance company
Assisted with documenting Operations Guide for the process SOA environment at a major Insurance company based on the West coast. The guide included areas on performance, security, operational processes and technology recommendations for services that are planned to be deployed.
Worked closely with the extended IBM team and the client architecture team to define touch points between other workstreams – ESB, SOA Reference Model and third party products like Webify and Layer-7
Lead the SOA Lab to showcase IBM SOA-Integration Framework and codify the SOA processes and methodology established in the previous phases of the project.
J2EE Lead Architect for a major Credit Union
Architected and lead the WebSphere Portal deployment and in establishing a common J2EE application infrastructure for the Credit Union to develop business applications. This involved working with key stakeholders and with the key Executives. The Portal includes key applications that was architected and designed by me, as well as other standard portlets.
This project started as a 4 week prototype and I championed it into a multi-year contract. Currently leading the upgrade of the Portal infrastructure from version 5.0.2 to 5.1
Single Sign On Architect for a major Credit Union
Designed and implemented a viable SSO solution that met the business and security requirements of the Credit Union. The end result of this effort - a Credit Union user was able to login to their desktop and access a variety of applications(Portal, Mainframe, Email, IM to name a few) without further login prompts.
Technical Adviser to VP, ISD for a major Credit Union
Acted as a trusted technical adviser for the VP of IS, by providing neutral technology evaluations, explain technical concepts and solutions as well leading workshops with his direct reports.
Lead Portal Architect for a Fortune 100 Chemical Company
Lead the architecture, design and implementation of a Collaborative B2B Portal solution for a major Chemical company. The Portal served as the primary communication and feedback mechanism for this company's premium partners. The solution I designed involved – developing custom portlets interfacing Sametime and QuickPlace servers, SSO with their Aventail based Reverse Proxy and integration with their Corporate LDAP Directory.
Integration Consultant for a leading Paper/Chemical Manufacturer
Performed the lead role of an architect and specialist in designing and implementing integration solution between Domino servers and WebSphere Application Servers in the client's secure Extranet. Assisted with several B2B applications deployment on this common infrastructure. The overall design included SSO strategy and X.509 deployment for one the client's premium customer. This project started as a 5 week engagement and the customer requested my services for over 18 months.
Product Engineering Support & Enablement
Assisted with writing sample scripts and testing beta code as the product team released the Workplace Client Technology SDK. This activity involved constant interaction with Lotus and IBM product engineering teams as well as the Marketing teams to deliver a sample Call Center Application built on this WCT 2.5 platform and shipped as part of the SDK, along with Developers Guide.
Collaboration Architect for a major Pharmaceutical company
Lead the architecture of Sametime deployment for a major Pharma company. The architecture had to span across the globe and support their corporate LDAP Directory. The follow on work included the design of QuickPlace infrastructure as part of the overall Collaboration environment. Also assisted the development team to write Plumtree gadgets to access Sametime and QuickPlace components. Designed the integration of this Collaboration environment with their SSO platform (Netegrity Siteminder)
SSO Architect and Collaboration Consultant for a Telecommunication Company
Architected the SSO solution for a large Telecommunication Company. The company had Siteminder based SSO solution and a large Collaboration environment that included Sametime, QuickPlace and Domino Messaging. The solution provided integration of their current Collaboration environment within this new SSO framework. Upon successful deployment of the SSO solution, I lead the Portal deployment to surface the existing Collaboration environment via WebSphere Portal Extend. The final solution included working Collaborative Portal site for the company's employees and remote access via secure Reverse Proxy.
Document and Content Architect
Assisted with the design and development of document centric application for the Legal business unit of a major food manufacturer. The solution was implemented using Domino.Doc and a custom web-based tool. As part of the overall Document and Content strategy for this company, provided guidance on taxonomy and content categorization services. Migrated HR Resume imaging system written in a legacy application to Domino.Doc. This effort involved writing custom code to the legacy C API to extract the images and recreate them in Domino.Doc using the Domino.Doc APIs.
